I am an antisocial bastard when it comes to the phone. The reason behind this is simple – I really, really hate talking to people on it.

Perhaps, by nature of my geekery, I’m a few steps along the Autistic Spectrum – or, as I have been told it’s okay to call it by Aspergers’ friends, the Retarded Rainbow – but I just don’t like interacting by voice over the phone. This applies to a much lesser degree to video calls via something like Skype, and I’m more than happy to communicate by email, instant message, or mobile text messaging.

Why? Well, there are a few reasons.
